We all have hopes and dreams, and I’m no different, so here is mine…
- Go to Macchu Pichu, Peru.
- Learn to ride a motorbike.
- Visit all the continents. (nearly there!!! anyone fancy a trip to Africa, or Antarctica??)
- Be brave enough to hold a tarantula
- Learn a language, fluently.
- Live in another city or country
See Bon Jovi liveRun in a race and raise money for a charity.Go backstage at a concert.- Go to an Olympic ceremony
- Be debt free
Fly long haul by myself- Ride an elephant
- Have a baby
Cut my hair short- Spend Christmas in Oz
- Have my own cake shop
Visit VegasHave a song written about me- Be able to do the splits
- Go to Wimbledon to see the tennis.
You had a song written about you? Thats rather exciting, I will be adding that to my own list.
yeah, my first boyfriend wrote songs and played the guitar…. i dont mean someone famous!
I’ve done a few of these things…I would LOVE to go to Wimbledon, antarctica, and to be able to do the splits (I’m a long way off…but I can put both my feet behind my head, so there’s always that!)
go you! makes my leg muscles ache just thinking about it!
Wanted to be able to do splits too. Sixty-one now. Think I may have to cross it off my list.
Great list you’ve got though, especially the Peru thing. Love it.
Good luck with all.
Love your glasses.
That is one crazy list! I have one too, and it’s a long one, of course. You’ve just reinmded me to reread it and make some adjustments. But, I do have some cool things on my list like climbing an active volcano, trekking in Patagonia, Milford track also visit Machu Picchu and Petra, which is something my friend and I promised we would go one day while we were still in school. The 6th, 7th and 8th language I want to learn are Portugese, Russian and Swedish. What’s your favourite thing that you did from your bucket list?
Do scratching “see Bon Jovi live” and “go backstage at a concert” off your list refer to the same thing?
no, sadly not. i was hoping no one would pick up on this. i went to see Bon jovi at the 02 last year (fantastic, getting tickets to see them in hyde park this year). i went backstage when i was a child and met… the spice girls. my dad had a friend who knew one of them, and still laughs as it was a massive surprise and in the car me and Little Bean were asked “so, do you like the spice girls?” we both said no, while unkowingly being on the way to a concert! it was fun though. but if you see the pics of me with them you will think its a girl modelling herself on Harry Potter, with Scary Spice. My glasses were not the coolest. i think thats enough said really!!
I’ve never thought this before but I find it odd that I can say “I’ve ridden an elephant.”
And let me tell you it is much more enjoyable than riding a camel.
And anyone who has Bon Jovi on their bucket list is good in my book.
I’ve ridden on an elephant too. Can’t remember it though because I was too little. 😦 On holiday with my parents somewhere … Thailand … Sri Lanka. Can’t remember. Think I have a photo though of my Dad and brother up on an elephant. Must dig out those old pre-digital photos and scan them sometime for uploading. Elephants are my Dad’s favourite animal.
Going to the Olympics is a MUST in my book! I better start saving my pennies now then!!
Great idea! Gotta do this for my own, too 🙂 Thank you
I wrote a post similarly concerning bucket lists ( I call it the ‘list of my life’), but ah I still have to go aways for mine. I want to visit the world as well (cliche!) but just the thought of it sounds liberating! 🙂
What a great idea! Not sure I’d want to hold a tarantula though.
I had a motorbike – come on over the “pond” and I’ll teach you. 🙂
Great list! I held a tarantula once and it tickled. I had to be “brave” for the kids on a field trip, otherwise I would have stayed in the back of the room. Shivers at the memory…
hey MJ, thanks for subscribing! yep, i think that one might get bumped ot the bottom of the list to be honest. im not the bravest of the bunch, in fact im a bit of a big girls blouse when it comes to anything like that!!!
hmmm..this is a great idea! will write my own bucket list soon…wanna go to africa and antarctica as well and well everywhere i guess. 🙂
cool, see you on the plane 🙂
Love your bucket list! I think it’s very important to have one! I’m working on mine as well! Thanks for stopping by my blog… yours is adorable, I LOVE the background!!
thanks chick 🙂
Great list! I think I might have to add riding an elephant to my list, too. That would be so fun! 🙂
Cake shop thing was so cute in the recent movie Bridesmaids if you haven’t caught it yet, you should.
-j
Great list! I like that you have own a cake shop on the list as well :).
Awesome list! You’ve inspired me to stop procrastinating and start mine. Good luck!
Cool list. I thought about putting a bucket list up.
I am going to have to do this too……
You forgot:
Fly into space and pick up corn on the cob at the store. Wait, that last one may be for the grocery list not the bucket.
Here is my bucket list:
http://atomicgator.wordpress.com/2010/07/18/my-awesome-list
i love the idea, all of ur tasks are rather amazing and interesting. being a curious person i would love to do (almost) all of the things that you want to do.
my personal fav: Visit all the continents. (nearly there!!! anyone fancy a trip to Africa, or Antarctica??) I AM IN 😀
I may have to pinch this idea off you and add a page to my blog, fab idea 🙂
Great list. One question- is Oz a real place?
lol i think she means Australia anyway lol
Good list! I love bucket lists. They make life that much more enjoyable and adventurous : )
Trip to Antarctica or Africa? I’m SO in!
Love your Bucket List. Great idea and I may add one to my blog too. Don’t think I’d want to hold a tarantula but I did pet a boa constrictor and I’m very proud of that since I am deadly afraid of snakes.
What a fantastical bucket list. Me thinks I shall try to come up with my own . . . great idea!
i will NEVER be brave enough to hold a tarantula. and i’m okay with that… 😉
i doubt i will either 🙂
i doubt i will either 🙂
Great list! I’d love to ride an elephant!
I LOVE this idea! I want to make my own bucket list now haha. Your site is very well done 🙂 Keep up the good work!
Oh, my gosh, YES. I want to ride an elephant. I need to add that to my Life List (which you can feel free to check out).
How beautiful! I know this is soppy, but somehow this post actually gives one hope 🙂
Hey Tink! This post is having loads of success, I see. Congrats! It is a cool one! 🙂
hey garratt how are you? the whole thing has gone a bit mad! 🙂
Hasn’t it! You are blowin’ up, girl! 😀
ah! big love. wanna write a guest post?
Ok pretty sure we inadvertently we discussed two items on this list and you failed to mention it? explain yourself young lady?
awkward. motorbike and cake shop? x
Anyways, about learning motorcycle – I can teach you like no one else 🙂
I am global rider riding Europe and Asia 🙂
Follow my footsteps through my pics on flickr 🙂
Ooh, interesting list! Come to India, for the elephant ride. 😀
All the best with your life list!
have you seen the film Motorcycle Diaries? that film encapsulates two of your items: riding a motorcycle and traveling through Peru.
Hi, thanks for coming by my blog and ‘liking’ my restaurant post. I’m guessing you were in the mood for some Korean food, lol. Had a look at your own and it’s amazing, love the concept and the bucket list. I’ve a few similar to yours, such as learn a language, live in a country and be debt free! I would definitely recommend going Wimbledon, I went the season just gone and did the whole thing, camping overnight (for tickets) and got access to all the courts at the total of £30! lol, we were definitely lucky but expect LOTS of queuing.
Hope your day goes well and take care.
Unleash your dreams!
I like this list! except for the # 4! good luck with that and let me know how it went.lol
I love your blog and I really like the idea of having a bucket list. Great idea! I might have to snatch that for one of my other blogs that’s in production at the moment. Well done! Oh, and thank you for liking one of my blog posts today. I hope you come back and read it often. All the Best! Regards to London…I love that place! 🙂
learning a language fluently is also one of mine 🙂 so i booked in for spanish lessons and can read 4 year old Spanish. Getting there slowly. What language do you want to learn?
I don’t have a bucket
Great list – for me, anything and everything is possible EXCEPT doing the splits…. 😉
I don’t have a bucket list, but I am learning to speak Italian fluently.
Nice list!
A list that promises adventures and wonderful possibilities. Keep living your dreams. Happiness needs to be celebrated everyday!
You saw Bon Jovi live?!?!?!
Jealous! 🙂
Very nice that you have quite a few crossed out already!
I suspect once you have a baby you will find yourself brave enough to hold that tarantula and many many more things! Enjoyed your list!
thats more scary than the spider!
Crossing “Believing in faeries enough to write on Tinkerbelle’s Blog” off of my bucket list
hahah yay!
Great Bucket list! Hope you get to Machu Piccu, but Oz more. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

I think you are already brave to tell about the tarantula.
I don’t like spiders generally.
I don’t know why.
Maybe I am afraid of it because of a person. She was not able to see a spider without being scared.
You have to tell the tarantula is bigger than a simple spider.
If the tarantula says : Hello Nina!, I believe I have a heart attack lol
In fact, If you can achieve your dreams in moderation, you have to do it.
LOVE this idea! I may do something similar. Thanks for the brilliance!
Love the list, but hope you’ll add some things that occur in France…Watching the Bulls Run in the South of France? Jousting on the Mediterranean? Cliff diving?
I love your bucket list! Mine is to see all 7 Natural Wonders of the world….but sadly haven’t gotten around to any of them YET 😉 Your blog is great! Thanks for checking out http://www.guffawyourself.com
Keep it up 🙂
Thanks so much for liking my facebook page; it’s a new adventure! I also love the bucket list! I have one, but it needs revision! The tarantula goal hits home with me because I’ve lived with arachnophobia since I was 10 years old (I’m now???). Anyway, here’s the link to one of my humor poems about spiders you may enjoy: http://lscotthoughts.com/2011/10/14/laughing-spiders/. I recently wrote a more serious haiku “Killing Time” where spider is the subject, as well. I believe writing about them is therapeutic, but I think I’ve completed the therapy!
By the way, we once had a tarantula in our house and if my husband wasn’t home, I would’ve called 9-1-1! 🙂 Not really, but I know how you feel! Your blog looks fun, I’ll be back!
Hmm, spend Christmas in Oz? That might be a little harder to mark off the list.
If you’re heading to Oz for Christmas one year, let me know. I’m sure there’s room here somewhere. If you don’t mind sharing with the geese, the horses, the ducks or the chooks I guess.
Very interesting…You share at least 6 with me 🙂
Awesome list! We actually have several “bucket list” items in common, like ride an elephant, have a baby, and visit all of the continents. =)
def. add going to the Galapagos Islands to that bucket list… (especially before it’s closed off to anyone in the world since it’s such a sustainable destination.)
Re: Spend Christmas in Oz. Have you ever heard of the Autumn in Oz in Banner Elk, North Carolina? You can rent out Dorothy’s house…probably over Christmas if you want.
Yeah for cake shops! Someday I’d like to have a cupcake truck . . . I’ll spend my winters driving across the country, chasing the sun, selling cupcakes out of my mobile bakery. Cheers to your list, and may you enjoy the journeys.
that sounds like so much fun!
I like your bucket list. More than that, I like that so many of them are done! Keep adding!
Thanks for sharing. 🙂
You’re not doing too badly with your list. I have one that I’m working through but panicking that I won’t finish this year.
Enjoying the bucket list! Good luck with all 🙂
Fun, I love reading these sorts of lists! I don’t know if somebody already asked but what language do you want to learn?
i think either spanish or italian
Do Spanish first and you’ll grab Italian by the horns!!!
Love your bucket list! Have you got tickets for the London Olympics?
The tarantula would be a big no for me, my OH held one last time we went to Longleat, I nearly threw up just looking at it in his hand!!! So good luck with that one!
I’m working on my bucket list while I’m living here in Japan! So far: Climb Mt. Fuji, Visit an Onsen, and try, try, try to hold a normal conversation in Japanese. I’m all for starting a cake shop together…One of these days, right? 😛
Thanks for visiting my fledging baking blog, and I’m excited to get some laughs from yours 🙂
-Melanie
Nice list.
Live for today. Tomorrow may not come, Yesterday is over. Today is a gift.
Machu Picchu was on my list as well. I made it to Peru, to Cuzco – was in the Incan mountain ranges and HAD TO STOP 7km away because of a mudslide!! It was awful – to come so close and fail to take that off my list.
Awesome bucket list! You should definitely come down to Australia for Christmas! We’re awesome! HAHA
Love it, and thanks for the like!
🙂
uponatlas.
Good items on the list. I love the one about riding an elephant. Visiting every country is on my list as well.
thank you so much for liking my post! I had no idea anyone outside of my family or friends read my blog and they never even ‘like’ me! lol best to you on your fabulous blog and look forward to more laughs! ps. I die for bon jovi!
Okay I have a few things on your list I could tick off. Rode an elephant – will post a pic on my blog – lived and taught in another country (many moons ago) _ you have one thing I cant do ever, have a baby – I have got to figure that one out – it could make me a lot of money. I do not like Bon Jovi, so I will substitute Muse and NIN.
Keep on scratching them off one at a time and dont forget to add new ones
I love it! You’ve inspired me to write mine down.
This is great, I am now motivated to make my own bucketlist! Love your blog!
Since the Olympics are coming to the U.K., maybe you can combine a few things on your list. I’m thinking you could run your cake shop at an Olympic venue, thereby accomplishing 2 of your goals. With the huge crowds — and you know the visitors will all want cake — maybe you’ll earn enough to be debt free.
Good luck!
‘Be debt free’ is a big one on my list 😉
Hopefully you will be lucky enough to go to the Olympic Ceremony this summer! Gracious, I am so envious. Perhaps I will win a scholarship to come to London and study abroad! 🙂
Thank you for liking my post.
So jealous about Bon Jovi! Love him- Living on a Prayer is my all time favorite song!
I am going to add your entire list to my list, it is that good! Ride an elephant is going to number 1.
This is such a great list and everything you want to do is what I want to do also, especially the tarantula one!! Spiders scare the crap out of me! I am sure you will do it all!!
Riding elephants is actually not fun at all! You feel like you’re going to fall off all the time and you feel sorry for the elephant. Feeding elephants on the other hand is great – their trunk is like a banana vacuum! Sadly I could never hold a tarantula, I saw my cousin eat one in Cambodia and I don’t want to see one ever again..
you want a christmas in OZ? :}
i want a christmas in the uk!
SWAP? ;]
x
ooo i Would love to have my own cake shop! would be amazing.
*Stretches legs* i havent been around for ages, i have missed this blog dearly though.
Hope your well tink
You gotta go and live in another country, seriously! Just do it. It’ll change your life. Crazy, wild adventures. Nothing makes sense; nobody understands you; weird food; weather is too hot or too cold; no carpeting; people stare at you; people ask if you’re from England. Everything’s different and weird, and wonderful and terrible, and then you start to understand it, and you make friends – and maybe more – and it’s just something that everyone should do. Photos. Take millions. I never met a person in my life who lived in a foreign country for at least a year and didn’t come back completely changed – for the better. Great good luck with your list!! 🙂
That’s a GREAT LIST! I blog about my bucket list too
I do it to remind myself to LIVE! I currently have over 260 items on my list and am over half way there (though it is growing all the time).
So far I have managed to do so much in the 18 months I’ve been blogging including:
I have managed to hold a tarantula – try a rose tarantula, they’re a bit pink (not so scary) and not as big… I’m normally completely arachnaphobic!
Also, I rode an elephant, but have since been educated, that this is never humane-this post will tell you why – http://emmasbucketlist.com/2012/03/01/thailand-part-2-the-big-buddha-phuket/

Ooh fantastic! I’m lucky enough to have done some of these, including Machu Picchu, long haul flight alone, going to the Olympics, riding and elephant and having Christmas in Oz. I think that last one is cheating since I am Australian…
I would love to visit all the continents, actually I would just love to visit anywhere. And hoping that I can go to Wimbledon and learn a second language if I ever get around to moving to Europe. It’s a possibility, right?
Great bucket list. i agree on most things there! it must’ve been epic having someone write a song about you, going to see Bon Jovi, and being backstage somewhere! who was it for? you seem pretty cool. 🙂 and trust me, you’ll LOVE short hair
You are inspiring me to write my own!
Great list! I can tick off a few, but I definitely want to tick off all the continents (USA and Antarctica anyone?) and go see the tennis at Wimbledon! I’ve heard tickets are impossible to get unless you’re royalty/David Beckham.
If you go the morning you can queue for tickets. a few guys in the office did it this way this year. I have never been either! I really should living in the same city.
Oh really! That makes me very happy. Online it says you have to line up for literally days…but an early morning i could do! Did they have success?
sure did!
