House and Home

30 May

So, we found the perfect house. We packed our bags, and were due to move two days ago. Saturday morning, 9am, ready to go. At 5pm on Thursday we got a call to say that another agent had got a better offer and gone with that. ARGH! The house we liked so much was gone, and we are back to the drawing board. I think we were quite lucky to find somewhere we liked at the first look, but onwards and upwards. Bookings were made for Saturday, and we looked at some heaps, but also some really nice ones.

We put an offer in on one flat; someone else did too and we didnt get it.

We saw a load more today (great fun when you got about four hours sleep the night before and felt terrible!) all with fatal flaws for us. Too studenty, too smelly, too odd feeling) so we have decided to put an offer in on one of the Saturday ones. I have a good feeling about this, watch this space ….

You’ll find exactly what you want. Just have patience. Here’s how it worked for me and my guy.

We were down to the wire. We had sold our place in one city and still hadn’t found the placee of our dreams in the little town we had picked. Had already put in one offer but got outbid.

In just one month we were going to be homeless as the sale of our old place closed and the new buyers moved in. We made one last despairing 600-mile trip to our new town, just a couple of boll weevils lookin’ for a home.

Then we saw it, a great looking bungalow on a large treed lot that FELT like ours. The realtor hadn’t been able to show it to anyone because the tenant hadn’t been ever been home. We were ready to buy it without even seeing the inside, but that one day we were in the new town the tenants was there. We looked. We loved. We made an offer, and it was accepted.

We finally were not vagabonds without a home. lol

You’ll see. Have faith and you too will come up with the home of your dreams.
