With Valentine ’s Day having just passed, I have read a lot of blogs about worst date experiences. I personally don’t have one as horrific as some that I have read, including the girl who kissed a guy on her first date and came out in big red welts. It turned out she was massively allergic to orange juice and he had drunk it that morning. They spent the evening in hospital, and she was mortified.
But when on a date with a guy a few years ago we got to discussing worst date experiences. I didn’t really have anything to bring to the conversation so he proceeded to tell me about a girl he had gone on a date with. They had discussed going for food and she hadn’t seemed that keen, but he had pushed it and finally she agreed. They went out for dinner, and between each course she excused herself and went to the loo. (Can you see where this is going?) According to him, the conversations were weird, she talked about death and how romantic she felt it was when couples died together, pausing only to nip to the ladies and powder her nose. When he left her at the tube she went in for the kiss and he swears to god that she tasted of sick. At this point I interrupted with a “is this one of those urban legends?” to which I was firmly put in my place. Apparently the situation still scarred him, with him feeling bad for forcing her to go to dinner when she was clearly off to vomit between courses. She then phoned him on the way home and told him she thought they had something special, proceeding to spam his inbox with interestingly creepy messages about soul mates until he changed his number.
With this in mind, let us be grateful. Personally I would rather be single that being stalked by a crazy!!
