Embarrassing Bodies

5 Feb

Sometimes you have to go to the doctors for embarrassing things, and this has brought about the programme embarrassing bodies. If you haven’t seen it, give it a miss, it’s quite possibly the worst thing ever. The Geordie and I recently sat and watched it and spent most of the episode without hands over our eyes saying ‘oowww, noooooo!!! And ‘really??!!’ There were some basic embarrassing things, like dandruff and acne, to some downright repugnant ones like athletes foot between the belly rolls and inny nipples (this isn’t too weird but it freaked me out the most!)

One of the first times I watched this, I watched it while Ex was having dinner. His face went from green to white and he politely asked me if we could switch over to the Simpsons. In my defence I wasn’t sure what was going to occur, but it was pretty nasty. No one wants to see piles when eating their baked beans!!

I bet being a doctor is quite amusing. Someone close to me recently went to the doctors after seeing an advert on the TV about breast cancer, and realising that she had never checked her boobs. She found what could have been a lump, but as she didn’t know what she was looking for, she thought it best to visit her general practitioner.  The doctor was very pleasant, but she realised upon leaving that she had a love bite on her boob. Brilliant!!

I can’t stomach this programme. Not because it’s not interesting but because it makes me feel slightly queasy! Doctors must meet some pretty bizarre people.

You should read ‘Confessions of a GP’ can’t remember who wrote it but easy to find on Amazon.
